Hi, I’m Susie!

II have been sewing since, well 1972, quilting for the past 15 years.

As a recent retiree, I wanted and needed to do something.  I was an Educational professional for over 18 years and worked in Mental Health for 11.

Ok, to be honest my husband is concerned about the 35 totes of material and suggested (LOL) I do something with the material.  Not to mention the various sewing machines that I have.  I mean doesn’t every girl need 5 sewing machines?

Over the years of purchasing material, books, and patterns has been both therapeutic and a favorite past time.  Nothing like the friendships you build in the quilting community.

I was the President of Kings River Quilt Guild for 4 years and enjoyed it very much.  I have since moved back to my hometown of Clovis, California and watch friends online.  Online “Show and Tells” are one of my favorites!

Quilting is a labor of love, it is not a fast process, and like all good things are worth the time and the wait.

As you might have guessed, I love the Sun Bonnet Sue Pattern, and enjoy making them, and giving them to family. 

Embroidery has become one of my favorite things to add!  I have so much fun looking at and learning how to design my own embroidery designs.  I embroider mostly on tea towels at this time white and muslin/natural color, terry towels, pillows, aprons and totes!  Find a design and I will figure out how to stitch it out for you!

A quilter not only sews the top design, but also quilts the project either by had or with a sewing machine.  All of my quilting is what is called ‘free motion quilting’ that I do myself either with my sewing machine or my long arm.  None of my quilting is computerized.

Please keep in mind that quilts take time to choose a pattern, selecting the perfect materials, cutting the pattern pieces, sewing the pattern pieces, and then quilting the quilt.  Please keep that in mind!
